Meet Our Staff – Yohaly M.

Lead Registered Behavior Technician

Yohaly first started with ABI as a Skills Trainer in August of 2015. Since then she has advanced her career by becoming a Lead Skills Trainer, and then she became a Lead RBT after receiving her Registered Behavior Technician Credential from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.

Yohaly was referred to ABI by her childhood friend, a current ABI employee. Yohaly completed her bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in education and applied psychology from University of California, Santa Barbara.  Yohaly is a native Californian currently residing in North Hollywood.

Yohaly always knew that she wanted a career working with children, but she had never thought about working with children with autism until applying to ABI. Yohaly’s favorite part of her job is watching her clients progress and learn new skills. One of her most rewarding experiences with a client was watching him go from making no eye contact and speaking very little, to being able to confidently hold eye contact and speak in complete sentences. Yohaly’s advice to new skills trainers is to be confident in your approach. She recalls being nervous at the beginning of her career at ABI, but as time went by she gained confidence and saw her approach strengthen. Yohaly enjoys working in the field of ABA, and she is considering returning to school to get a BCBA.

When Yohaly isn’t with our kiddos at ABI, she enjoys traveling and exploring different cities in southern California with friends.

Thanks for being such a great addition to our team, Yohaly!
